Restaurant Review - Stokehouse Q

Stokehouse Q is Brisbane’s popular riverside restaurant. The perfect waterfront location and pleasant Brisbane weather work in favour of this open-air restaurant. It lies on the Southbank of the Brisbane River. It provides a luxurious fine-dining experience with the most spectacular river and city views.

The whole place divides into three parts - Stoke bar, a deck and a dining room. The dining area overlooking the Brisbane River looks relaxed yet stylish. Chef Richard Ousby creates the dishes using the freshest, highest quality, local produce. The menu is A la Carte and extensive. It includes raw entrees, snacks, starters, mains, sides and desserts. Flavours from the Mediterranean and greater Europe inspire the dishes on the menu. They also have a vegan menu.

The menu includes high-end dishes such as Royal Blue and saltbush dumplings, local squid risotto, pancetta-wrapped chicken with charred pineapple, kangaroo carpaccio. The highlight of the Menu is market fish served with a sweet carrot reduction, pickled raisins and carrot salad. Pancetta-wrapped chicken with charred pineapple and beetroot salad is worth mentioning.

If you want to go with more bold choices, choose Kingfish Crudo salty with bottarga and zingy with grapefruit and orange, or grilled John Dory that comes with smoky eggplant purée and pickled mango, beetroot and zucchini. Signature dessert here is The Bombe. It is a frozen white chocolate parfait, a thin layer of strawberries and creamy toasted meringue. Or go for the Neapolitan which is vanilla semifreddo, rosella sorbet, dark chocolate mousse. They also have plenty of liquid desserts.

Stokebar Q is a complete standout. If you want a light lunch or a relaxed evening of great cocktails and delicious snacks, Stokebar Q will not disappoint. It is more casual and has a menu. They have an outstanding drink list that includes nicely-made cocktails, high-quality wines from all over the world. They also have some rare and unusual options. If you are visiting on Sunday, you can enjoy Stoked on Sundays with DJs. At the mezzanine level, they have a private dining room which you can book for any event.

Stokehouse Q situated on Brisbane River is 3 km away from Brisbane CBD. It is open from Monday to Thursday from noon to late and from Friday to Sunday, from 11.00 am to late. If you are travelling by car, you can park on the street in the surrounding area or South Bank Parklands Underground Park, Little Stanley Street.
