Coach hire without the phone tag.

Describe the trip once. Local operators quote on it. You choose.

What Hire A Bus is

We are a marketplace for group transport. You describe one trip. Operators who actually work in that area quote on it. You compare what comes back in one place and pick the one you want.

We do not own coaches and we do not drive them. The companies quoting you are the ones who will turn up, and they set their own prices.

Why we rebuilt it

Getting a coach quote used to cost you a morning. You called round, you answered the same questions five times, and half the replies were somebody promising to get back to you. Comparing the answers meant keeping your own notes, because no two quotes covered the same things.

The new Hire A Bus moves that work off your desk. You describe the trip once, in your own words. We do the asking. The quotes come back in a form you can compare side by side.

How a booking works

  1. Tell us the trip. Where from, where to, when, and how many of you. Plain English is fine, and you do not need to know what size of vehicle you want.
  2. See an estimate straight away. It is an estimate and we label it as one. It is there so you know the rough cost before you spend any more time.
  3. Get real quotes. Operators price your actual journey rather than reading off a rate card.
  4. Pick one. A 25% deposit confirms the booking. The balance goes to the same payment method 7 days before you travel, and that date is on your trip page from the moment you book.

The price you accept is the price you pay

There is no booking fee bolted on at the end and nothing extra discovered on the day. If a quote says a number, that is the number.

Your details stay private while you compare

Until a deposit is paid, operator contact details are not published to you and yours are not handed to them, so nobody ends up with a list of numbers to work through. Once you have paid, you and the operator get each other's details, including an emergency contact, because from that point you have a trip to run together. Phone numbers and email addresses are stripped out of messages sent through the site.

Who we let quote

An operator cannot quote until we have their paperwork. We hold public liability insurance, bus & coach accreditation, Roadworthy / NHVR and Driver authority / HR-HC licence before an operator can see a single request.

Each document is held against the operator's record with its expiry date, and we ask for the local equivalent in every market we open rather than assuming one country's rules travel.

Running coaches?

The operator side is open now. You set your own prices, you decide which trips you want, and you keep your own customers. There is a Become an operator link in the menu.
